CLIMAVER® A1 APTA self-supporting duct system for the distribution of air in ventilation, heating and cooling systems, especially where acoustic, energy effiency, interior cleaning and fire safety requirements are extremely high.
 

Characteristics

  • ​The external facing of CLIMAVER®  A1 APTA is covered with kraft paper and glass mesh reinforced aluminium foil, which acts as a vapour barrier, and the internal facing with a black reinforced glass neto fabric with high mechanical resistance.  
  • Manufactured from inorganic  chemically biosoluble materials and do not include anything that would have effect on corrosion and shall not facilitate microbial growth.
  • Given it's superior thermal and acoustic insulation, CLIMAVER®  A1 APTA is a suitable solution when installing networks of self-supporting air-distribution ducts in thermal installations within air-conditioning systems in buildings.
  • Technical characteristics in compliance with applicable regulations.This section features all the technical characteristics required for references standards: EN 14303, EN 13403, EN ISO 354,EN 13501-1,EN 15715 , EN 12667, EN 12939, EN 12086, EN 1604 , EN 12237.

Pressure  loss

For normal HVAC systems air speed pressure drops are similar to metal ducts ,ASHRAE charts for metal ducts can be used

Other information

  • Mechanical strength: duct is durable and can stand static pressure without reinforcemets up to 800Pa 
  • The interior facing has a high mechanical resistance, meaning that the duct can be cleaned using the most aggressive methods, such as nylon brushing
  • Textile frame: total sound wave permeability and absence of perforations to avoid dust accumulations
  • Marking of SDM guide lines: points of reference for the construction of duct layouts using the Straight Duct Method, or SDM

Assembly

Although there are other assembly methods, the recommended method is the “Straight Duct Method”, SDM. This method is based in the use of a straight duct as the basis to obtain duct fittings, and, therefore, the ductwork. The Straight Duct Method uses two types of accessories:
  • CLIMAVER tools: CLIMAVER MM, used to groove the panel so that it can be folded into the duct section, and CLIMAVER SDM, used to cut the straight duct and obtain the pieces that will be used to make duct fittings.
  • CLIMAVER Glue and CLIMAVER Tape: These are used to seal joints when making duct fittings. CLIMAVER Glue has been specially developed to glue glass wool. CLIMAVER tape is made of pure aluminium, 50μm thick and 65 mm wide
